Fagbemi Family Donates ?5 Million to LUTH in Memory of Matriarch, Daughter

The Fagbemi family of Lagos, led by Ms. Aderemi Fagbemi, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, donated the sum of ?5 million to the cancer treatment unit of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in honour of their late mother, Mama Gladys Fagbemi, and sister, Pastor Adenike Lamai.
The donation was made to mark the second anniversary of the passing of Pastor Adenike Lamai and to support the treatment of cancer patients at the NCIA Medserve Cancer Centre in LUTH, Lagos.
“We honour the legacy of care, hope, and compassion of my dearly beloved sister, Pastor Nike, and our mother, Mama Gladys, with this donation.
“This endowment is dedicated to supporting patients at the NCIA Medserve Cancer Centre, and we hope it brings hope and relief, especially in light of the high cost of cancer treatment in Nigeria,” Aderemi Fagbemi stated during the presentation.
Ms. Fagbemi revealed that the fund will operate as a five-year pilot programme, “by the grace of God,” and reaffirmed the family’s continued commitment to contributing to healthcare causes.
“To all those undergoing cancer treatment, we hope this small token of love brings you encouragement. Always remember; you are not alone. We will continue to support you in our own way.
“May your healing be a testimony to God’s unwavering love for you. Thank you, and God bless,” she added.
The donation was formally received by Dr Lilian Ekpo, Medical Director,
NCIA Medserve Cancer Centre, who expressed gratitude to the family and called on other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the Fagbemis in supporting healthcare initiatives across the country.
