Eze Ndigbo Of Oyo State, Alex Anozie, Dies At 74

The Eze Ndigbo of Ibadanland and President, Non-Indigene Traditional Council of Ibadan and Oyo State, Dr. Alex Anozie is dead.

Dr. Anozie, aged 74 died in his sleep on Tuesday at his Ososami residence in Ibadan, Oyo state.
Eze Anozie  was until Monday,  September 25, 2023, the chief host to Hausa community leaders in his Ososanmi Palace where he held meeting with guests till 6pm.
Some members of his palace said that the Eze Ndigbo of Ibadanland did not show any sign of sickness, but that he was busy attending to his official matters before he gave up the ghost.
Mr Samuel Ule, his Personal Assistant disclosed in an interview that Eze Anozie had some weaknesses in his body, and that he walked to Fumbell Diagnostic Centre, opposite University College Hospital ( UCH) for medical test on Monday morning.
“The result of the test was to be released today, but sadly we were shocked to hear that he slept and could not wake up from his sleep,” he said.
Ule said that the deceased lived in Ibadan for many years and contributed immensely to the economic growth of the ancient town.
Many people have been thronging his residence to confirm his death after the news got to town.
His remains, as we were reliably informed, have been taken to his hometown; Igboukwu in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State for final burial.
The late Anozie was the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CONAC Optical Company Limited, Ibadan.
