Exclusive Details of How Ibidun Ighodalo Died + All You Need To Know About Ex-Miss Lux

More details have emerged on how Ibidun Ighodalo, a former beauty queen and wife of Ituah Ighodalo, senior Pastor of Trinity House Church, Lagos, died.

It will be recalled that the former Miss Lux died in the early hours of Sunday June 14, 2020 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The woman, who would have clocked 40 years of age on July 19, reportedly died of heart attack in her sleep.

A seasoned event planner, Ibidun was said to have been in Bayelsa and Rivers states to help with the building of isolation centres for COVID-19 patients.

Ibidun was actually said to had been on admission days before she embarked on the ill-fated journey to Port Harcourt in Rivers State.
Sources said that she was discharged from Premier Hospital in Victoria Island, Lagos and that a doctor was attached to her for the trip.

Some people believed that the hospital should have advised against the trip, which she reportedly made by road.

We gathered that her husband, Pastor Itua Ighodalo was just recovering from COVID-19 and that he was recuperating in the house, while his wife travelled.

Ibidun’s body was brought back to Lagos on Sunday 14th June, the same day she died.

The woman was eventually buried amidst tears on Saturday 20th June, 2020 at the Vaults and Gardens cemetery in Lagos State.
Prayers were offered for the repose of her soul as well as for Godís protection for her husband, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, their two children Keke and Zenan, her mother, her siblings as well as her work and the foundation she left behind.

The Funeral Service was aired live via the churchís social media platforms and was attended by top Nigerian officials such as Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, who also represented Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, and the former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Also present was Pastor Idowu Oluyomade, Personal Assistant to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

Pastor Adeboye had said that hearing the news of Ibidunni Ighodaloís demise was really saddening but he knew that she had gone to be in a better place.

Life History of Miss Lux


First known as Ibidun Ajayi, she first hit fame when she won the Miss Lux beauty pageant competition as an 18-year-old undergraduate of the University of Lagos.

She married Pastor Ighodalo in 2007. The union was a controversial one as Pastor Ighodalo, then of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Christ Church Parish, Gbagada, had divorced his first wife Lucy-Ann Suinner. The church was said not to be happy with the situation and sacked him.

He went on to start his church called Trinity House.

Ighodalo was also a successful event planner whose outfit Elizabeth R, had big brands in her clientele.
Just recently, Ibidun Ighodalo worked with one of the top banks in Nigeria to provide isolation centres in Bayelsa and Rivers State for COVID-19 patients.

She was also the founder of Ibidunni Ighodalo Foundation, a non-profit organisation created to raise awareness on issues about infertility.

The foundation also provides grants for couples that require fertility treatments such as in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) and intrauterine insemination.

It was her struggle with infertility that led her to start the foundation.
In a 2018 interview, Ighodalo revealed that she underwent IVF 11 times due to pressure from in-laws and friends before deciding to adopt her daughter, Keke.
