Ekiti APC Primary: NDCP Bemoans Violence, Calls On Security Agencies To Take Charge

The Nigeria Democratic Congress Party NDCP has condemned in its entirety the violence that greeted the Governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress APC in Ekiti State on Saturday.
The party described the incident as uncalled for and sad to the institution of democracy in the country.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Presidential Candidate of the party, Dr Johnson Edomsowan, the party said the development is a bad omen for the country’s growing democracy.
Edosomwan who berated the situation called on security agencies to wade in and save Nigeria’s political system from thuggery and violence.
He said “We find it unfortunate that with our level of development in our political system, the incident of yesterday has drawn us aback.”
“We in the NDCP condemn in the development as we call on all security agencies to investigate and unravel the mystery behind the dastardly act.”
“We believe that with this situation, danger looms for our hard earned democracy which must not be allowed to hold water. It must be protected by all stakeholders.”
The National Democratic Congress Party leader also urged politicians to eschew bitterness and violence as Nigeria builds up to the 2019 General Elections.
