EFCC Nabs Suspected Internet Fraudster with Two Local Pistols

Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested a suspected internet fraudster found in possession of two locally made pistols.
The suspect was apprehended alongside 55 others during a sting operation at K-Hotel in Itori, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. The operation followed credible intelligence linking the group to widespread fraudulent and other criminal activities.
Items recovered from the suspects included six luxury vehicles, 89 mobile phones, several laptops, and incriminating documents believed to be linked to their illicit dealings.
According to EFCC sources, all suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
The arrest underscores the agency’s renewed crackdown on cybercrime and related offences, with EFCC officials reiterating their resolve to tackle both financial and violent criminal elements operating under the guise of internet fraud.
