EFCC Arrests Benue Governor’s Aide for Alleged Sextortion, Cyberbullying

Operatives of the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested Dr. Mkor Aondona, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Benue State on Documentation, Research, and Planning, over alleged involvement in sextortion and cyberbullying.
Aondona was apprehended on Saturday in Makurdi following a series of petitions filed by female students who accused him of unethical and criminal conduct, including sexual exploitation, blackmail, and online harassment.
According to the petitioners, the governor’s aide reportedly targeted slim and attractive young women, often recruiting them for ushering jobs on the condition that they granted him sexual favours. The victims alleged that Aondona secretly recorded their sexual encounters without their consent and used the videos to blackmail them into continued sexual relations.
Investigations further revealed that he was in the habit of sending explicit footage of the unsuspecting victims to others via various messaging platforms. Some of the videos are believed to have already circulated online.
The EFCC confirmed that the suspect is in custody and will be formally charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
