The management of Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) has distanced itself from a truck involved in a fatal accident in Enugu State, insisting the vehicle does not belong to the Dangote Group.

In a statement on Wednesday, the company explained that investigations confirmed the truck was owned by Visco Investment Global Limited, a third-party operator, and not part of its fleet.

“We are actively engaging with the appropriate agencies to determine why the truck in question was bearing our logo, despite not being part of our operations,” DIL said. “Moving forward, we will tighten scrutiny against the unauthorised use of our brand identity, particularly the misuse of our logo on vehicles not affiliated with the Group.”

The company expressed concern over what it described as the increasing spread of misinformation attributing such incidents to the Dangote Group without evidence.

“While it is our policy not to comment on individual cases, we are compelled to address these reports. We urge the public and media to refrain from circulating unverified claims,” the statement added.

DIL further pledged full cooperation with relevant authorities investigating the incident and warned against attempts to exploit the tragedy for malicious or financial purposes.

“The Dangote Group remains steadfast in upholding the highest standards of corporate responsibility, safety, and integrity in all our operations,” it stressed.
