Christian Lent Kicks Off Worldwide Wednesday
Over 2.6 billion Christians all over the world are expected to join in the holy rites of the Lent (annual fasting period) tomorrow February 18, 2026, with the observation of the Ash Wednesday ritual.
Ash Wednesday, commemorates the traditional start of Lent which will last through Thursday, April 2, 2026.
Good Friday-the day commemorating the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, will fall on Friday, April 3, 2026, while Sunday, April 5, 2026, will be Easter Sunday-the celebration of the Resurrection.
Lent is a fasting and prayer period held annually by Christians commemorating the 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the wilderness, according to the Bible.
