Chelsea agree to sell Ziyech to Galatasaray

Chelsea FC has reached an agreement to transfer winger Hakim Ziyech to Galatasaray.

The Moroccan international is now set to undergo a medical examination with the Turkish Super Lig club.

The 30-year-old has fallen out of favor at Stamford Bridge and previously experienced unsuccessful attempts to move to Paris St-Germain and Saudi Pro League’s Al Nassr.

Since his £33.3 million acquisition by Chelsea in 2020, Ziyech has participated in 107 matches across various competitions.

While he played a crucial role in Morocco’s historic achievement of becoming the first African team to reach the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar 2022, he was an unused substitute during Chelsea’s Champions League victory in 2021.

Despite these accomplishments, Ziyech’s significance at Chelsea has waned, amidst significant investments in player acquisitions totaling approximately £900 million since the takeover by American investor Todd Boehly and his Clearlake consortium in May 2022.

Ziyech was conspicuously absent from Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the USA earlier this summer. Furthermore, he was not included in the matchday squad for their recent 1-1 draw against Liverpool and was not assigned a squad number for the new Premier League season.
