A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has pronounced the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, guilty on the first count of the terrorism allegation levelled against him by the Federal Government.
The court ruled that Kanu engaged in multiple broadcasts aimed at inciting violence and killings, all in furtherance of his push for a Biafran state.
Delivering judgment, Justice James Omotosho said the decision was based on “uncontroverted evidence” presented before the court by the prosecution.
As at the time of filing this report, Kanu has been convicted on five count charges.
