BREAKING: EFCC Declares Fargo Petroleum MD, Seun Ogunbambo, Wanted Over N976.6 Million Oil Subsidy

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Seun Ogunbambo, Managing Director of Fargo Petroleum and Gas Limited, wanted for allegedly defrauding the Federal Government of Nigeria of over N976.6 million through fraudulent oil subsidy claims.

In a statement issued on Friday by EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the anti-graft agency disclosed that Ogunbambo was standing trial before a Lagos State High Court but disappeared after being granted bail. His current whereabouts remain unknown.

Ogunbambo’s disappearance comes on the heels of the conviction of his co-defendants, Mamman Nasir Ali and Christian Taylor, who were both sentenced to 14 years in prison on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, for their roles in the multi-million naira subsidy scam.

According to the EFCC, the wanted suspect is light complexioned, fluent in English and Yoruba, and was last known to reside at No. 2 Olamiyuyan Crescent, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The official notice from the Commission reads:

“Mr. Seun Ogunbambo, Managing Director of Fargo Petroleum and Gas Limited, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly defrauding the Federal Government of Nigeria through bogus oil subsidy claims to the tune of Nine Hundred and Seventy-Six Million, Six Hundred and Fifty-Three Thousand, One Hundred and Ten Naira, Twenty-Eight Kobo (N976,653,110.28).

He was standing trial before a Lagos State High Court but disappeared after being released on bail. His co-defendants, Mamman Nasir Ali and Christian Taylor, were convicted and sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment each on May 27, 2025.

Ogunbambo is light complexioned, speaks English and Yoruba, and his last known address is 2 Olamiyuyan Crescent, Ikoyi, Lagos.”

The EFCC is urging anyone with useful information on Ogunbambo’s whereabouts to report to the nearest EFCC office in Lagos, Enugu, Kano, Gombe, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Benin, Kaduna, Sokoto, Makurdi, Ilorin, Maiduguri, Uyo, or Abuja.
