BREAKING: DSS Arrests Blogger For Cloning Agency’s Official website
The Department of State Services (DSS) on Friday apprehended one Sylvester Victor Augustus, a blogger, for allegedly cloning the agency’s official website to defraud the public through a fake recruitment scheme.
Augustus, 32, hails from Akpan Eno Street in Abak Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. DSS operatives tracked and arrested him at his residence on Friday.
The suspect, who identifies as a content creator and a graduate of the University of Uyo, reportedly created a counterfeit DSS website to promote a fraudulent recruitment drive aimed at extorting money from unsuspecting victims.
The DSS swiftly discredited the fake recruitment campaign, labeling it a scam and urging the public to disregard it.
A DSS source in Abuja confirmed on Friday morning that Augustus would soon face prosecution in court.
