Bishop Bagobiri was a people’s Bishop – Shehu Sani
The lawmaker representing Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, has described the death of the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, Most Rev. Joseph Danlami Bagobiri as a monumental loss to the people of Kaduna state and the nation at large.
He described Bagobiri as someone who would be missed by Kaduna State and the entire country, stressing that the clergy was a moral and spiritual giant.
“He symbolised the conscience of his people and his generation. He was a man of the poor and the oppressed,” Sani added.
While describing some of the virtues of the late Clergy on his Facebook page, the lawmaker wrote: “He was a Peoples Bishop.”
“He was a man never shy, never timid on matters of truth and justice. He lived with dignity and departed with honour. His life was an example and an inspiration for modesty, responsibility and self respect,” he said.
Sani also stated that Bishop Bagobiri raised a towering bar for honesty and sacrifice in the service and defence of the downtrodden and the marginalized, adding that “May he rest in peace and rise in the glory of his Lord”.
