Ariyo Olagoke Calls For Synergy To Curb Insecurity

Professor Sabit Ariyo Olagoke, an Ibadan, Oyo State-born Professor of Engineering, and the Founder and Spiritual Head of Shafaudeen-In-Islam has called for synergy between the members of the public and the government to curb insecurity in the country.

Professor Olagoke stated this at the first Shafaudeen-In-Islam Annual Convention “Ishrat 2022” in collaboration with the Center for Religious Cooperation and Tolerance (CRCT).

Olagoke however, said that there must be a return of restoration of good parenting with role-modelling examples in child rearing processes.

He said that there must be compliance with ante-natal care, safe and secured child custody, appropriate intervention in the right management of the delicate adolescence stage through nature nurturing process with the attendant parental monitoring.

“There should be sponsorship of functional education with appropriate guiding interventions leading to career assurance, professional expertise and the ultimate home formation through the due process of marriage sacredness for the youth that would lead into maturity stage of new generation parenthood.

“This shall not only be a beneficial to the society, but it will guarantee bequethable legacy of peace and sustainable development for the future,” Olagoke said.

Speaking on the roles of the government, Olagoke stressed that they must revive the functional objectives of the culture for the people to have integrity.

He stressed that the government needed to promote functional education to the conscious realization of the affective, cognitive and psychomotor domains for education to be a solution in realizing civility, scriptural content internalization for ease of application to suit real life situation to be justice and equity concept laden.

This, he said is fundamental to achieving security.

Also in her contributions, the state Commissioner of Police, CP. Ngozi Onadeko who was represented by CSP Usman Sharafadeen, called for synergy between the security agencies and members of the public to achieve crime free society.

Sharafadeen, in his remarks said, “there is need for all and sundry to support the security personnel in the country to curb the menace of insecurity in the country.

“We need to be conscious of our immediate environment, security is a collective responsibility of all of us.

“We should all have a positive focus. We must fear God in whatever we do, anyone who fears God will not do anything harmful to others, or his immediate environment and the society at large.We must be very positive in all our endeavours.

“We must let our foundation be based on the fear of God, having laid our foundation we will not do anything harmful to our society.

“You will wonder that I’m talking about God, yes we must mediate, we must preach, we must consult, we must do all the needful to ensure that we have maximum security in our country.

“We must be patriotic and straight forward in all our dealings. Parents should be conscious of where their children go and the kind of friends they move with.

“We must let our children know that they are the leaders of tomorrow and they must see the reason to prepare themselves for the future.

“Members of the public must help the security agencies, there must be a robust synergy between them and the security agencies foe a safer society.

The event was attended by the representative of Oyo/Osun Area Customs Command, Owolabi Idowu Kayode, representative of Oyo State Comptroller of Immigration, Akinlabi Abdulmumin, students, members of the civil societies, traditional title holders among others.
