Anambra Governor, Charles Soludo, Deputy Sworn-In For Second Term

Governor Charles Soludo has been sworn-in for a second term in office as leader of Anambra State.
He took the oath of office on Tuesday during an inauguration ceremony held at the Alex Ekwueme Square.
Soludo was sworn in alongside his deputy, Onyeka Ibezim.
The event drew high-profile dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, as well as former Commonwealth Secretary-General Emeka Anyaoku.
Also in attendance was Siminalayi Fubara and other governors.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Soludo winner of the November 8, 2025 governorship election.
He secured 422,664 votes, defeating Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 99,445 votes.
INEC noted that 16 candidates contested the election, with a total of 2,788,864 registered voters. Of these, 598,229 were accredited, while 595,298 votes were cast and 11,244 rejected across the state’s 21 local government areas.
Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), recorded a landslide victory, winning in all 21 local government areas of the state.
