Ambode Joins Sanwo-Olu, Fashola, Others At Reception For Tinubu

A former Governor of Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode, joined his predecessor, Babatunde Fashola, and his successor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at a reception organized by the Lagos State Government in honour of President Bola Tinubu in Lagos.

This is the first time they are publicly meeting in over 4 years since Governor Sanwo-Olu took over office as the governor of Lagos State.

Media Adviser to the Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile, on his official Twitter account, posted a video of the trio in a cheerful mood, taking pictures and exchanging pleasantries with other guests.

President Bola Tinubu, was delighted to see  Akinwunmi Ambode at the exquisite reception organized for him by the Lagos State Government in the course of his visit to the state.

Ambode who has kept himself away from all socio-political gatherings after he lost his second term re-election bid as the state governor joined other dignitaries at the reception.

The event also had Ambode’s predecessor, Babatunde Fashola and successor/host, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu in attendance, is the first time all former governors of the state under this democracy will come together since 2019.

Speaking at the reception, President Tinubu pledged to make sure that Nigeria works again and to also ensure prosperity of all Nigerians.

In the President’s words: “We have to make Nigeria work again. You will see reward in this country, we will prosper for the sake of our children and the future of Nigeria. I’m glad to see Ambode. Thank you, Akin!”

The president further called on all governors irrespective of party affiliation to work together with his administration to push forward the government’s agenda of laying a solid foundation for future generations.

The event also had in attendance the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, the former speaker of the House of Representatives and chief of staff to the president, Femi Gbajiabiamila among other crème de la crème in the political space.
