Former President Babangida Officially Flags Off Constriction Of Hospital In Kano Community

Former President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (RTD), on Sunday officially flagged off the construction of a new hospital in his ancestral hometown, Kumurya, which is located in the Bunkure Local Government Area of Kano State.
Babangida, who was represented by the former Chief of Defence Intelligence, Retired Brigadier-General Halliru Akilu, stated that he would never forget the birthplace of his grandparents and is committed to supporting the community in every way possible.
“Babangida will never forget his hometown; Kumurya is his community. This is where his grandfather lived; he was born here, and before destiny moved him to Niger State, so we will continue to support this community in any way possible,” Akilu declared.
Akilu highlighted Kano State’s contribution of many important personalities, such as General Sani Abacha, General Murtala Muhammad Ramat, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, and others.
“I know a lot of people don’t know that Abdulsalami Abubakar is from Kano, so we Kano people are blessed,” Akilu added.
“Babangida asked me to thank you for your prayers, and he will make sure the project is finished in good time.”
On his part, the Emir of Rano, Alhaji Muhammad Isa Umar, thanked Babangida for coming of with the project.
He described the hospital as a life-changing project that would benefit thousands of people in the community.
He also extended thanks to Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil for championing the cause and ensuring the project came to reality.
“We can’t thank our father, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, enough for coming up with this project for his hometown. We are really happy, as this hospital will save a lot of people,” the Emir said.
“We also want to thank Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil for making sure the project comes to reality; this gesture we will never forget. We also thank Brigadier-General Halliru Akilu for representing Babangida at this important event. May Allah reward them abundantly.”
Mallam Salihu, a resident of the Kumurya community, also expressed gratitude to Babangida for initiating the project.
He offered prayers to God to bless the former president and his family.
