Notorious Kidnapper, Maidawa Eliminated In Security Operation Along Kwara-Kogi Border

A notorious kidnap kingpin, identified as Maidawa, has been killed alongside some of his accomplices during a fierce confrontation with security forces in Isanlu, Isin Local Government Area, over the weekend.
Security sources confirmed that intelligence gathered through intercepted communications by the Department of State Services (DSS) led to a sting operation that neutralised Maidawa and his gang members along the Kwara-Kogi State border.
News of Maidawa’s elimination was reportedly relayed to other members of the criminal network by another wanted kidnapper, Baccujo, while on the Igboro–Idofin Road. He was said to have communicated the development to associates based in Marabar Maigora, Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
According to authorities, the renewed onslaught against kidnappers followed fresh directives from the Kwara State Government to intensify the fight against rising abduction cases targeting civilians in the region.
Security operatives have pledged to sustain coordinated and phased operations across Ekiti, Ifelodun, Isin, Edu, and Patigi Local Government Areas in a bid to dismantle kidnapping syndicates and restore safety in affected communities.
