Oba Rashidi Ladoja Decorated With Akoko Leaves As 44th Olubadan Of Ibadanland  …As Installation Marks Beginning Of New Era In West Africa’s Largest City

The Oluwo Afobaje of Labosinde has decorated Oba Rashidi Ladoja with Akoko leaves, marking his recognition as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oyo State in a ceremony held at the Labosinde Compound, Oja’ba, Ibadan.
The decoration, which symbolizes legitimacy and authority in Ibadan’s chieftaincy tradition, was conducted in line with long-standing cultural rites.
The event was preceded by the ritual opening of the calabash a customary step in the enthronement process.
Following the decoration, Oba Ladoja proceeded to the Osemeji shrine, situated directly opposite the Labosinde Compound, where further traditional rites were performed.
Arriving in grand style, the monarch was conveyed in a white limousine, accompanied by members of the Olubadan-in-Council, notable Ibadan warlords (Oloroso), as well as his immediate and extended family members.
The installation marks the beginning of a new era in the ancient city of Ibadanland as it is believed that HRM Oba Rashidi Ladoja wields much influence that will lead to more development in the acclaimed largest city in West Africa.
