Tobi Adegboyega, founder of the SPAC Nation church in the United Kingdom, has revealed that he is on the road to recovery after undergoing surgery for cancer.

In June, the charismatic cleric disclosed his diagnosis and confirmed that he had gone through a major surgical procedure. Reflecting on the experience, he described his survival as a divine verdict.

“I have been dealing with cancer for the past few months or maybe more. And I just had a major surgery. That is why I am not there today. I feel the verdict to continue to live was given to me by God,” Adegboyega shared.

In a recent social media video, he announced that chemotherapy is the next stage of his treatment. With characteristic candour, he addressed the cultural tendency to deny illness.

“When you say this to Nigerians, they will say it is not your portion in Jesus’ name,” he said. “But it was my portion, and I have faced it like a man should. This is proof of life. I’m alive and recovering.”

Adegboyega expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from church members and well-wishers since his diagnosis. He added that both his family and congregation remain strong despite the challenge.

“I’m grateful for the prayers and support. I’m recovering, the church is thriving, and the family is stronger than it was,” he said. “God has blessed us with more people, and you will soon see the businesses we are opening. We built them ourselves without any investors. I just made this video to assure you that I’m recovering well and I’m fine.”

Adegboyega’s message, a blend of faith, realism, and resilience, underscores the determination with which he is confronting one of life’s gravest challenges.
