Rivers LG Elections: APC Clears 20 LGAs, PDP Wins 3 LGAs
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which controls the state government, won only three LGAs in the poll conducted by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC).
Governor Siminalayi Fubara also lost his Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area to the APC.
Announcing the results at the commission’s headquarters on Aba Road, Port Harcourt, the RSIEC Chairman, Dr. Michael Odey, confirmed the APC’s sweep on Sunday afternoon.
