I Wanted To Study Law-Christiana Owoseni …Says God-Fearing People Should Go into Politics

Her Eminence Mojisola Christiana Owoseni, wife of the Founder of African Jerusalem, His Eminence Gideon Owoseni, Baba Solution shared Her experience as a prophet’s wife with First Weekly Magazine’s Kunle Bakare recently. Excerpts:
While growing up you must have passion for a discipline what was that ma?
When i was growing up, I lived with my uncle, a senior lawyer, Chief Moses Ibiyemi of blessed memory because I love the way they do things starting from the dressing and the way they advocate for people, that my uncle had six of his children as lawyers, so I had the intention of becoming a lawyer.
So, what did you study in school?
I studied guidance and counselling at the Federal University, Ado Ekiti in Ekiti State.
How did you embrace Christianity?
Both my father and mother were members of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, so I was born into the garment church and when it was time for me to marry I married a prophet which keeps me in the church till date.
Can you tell us some of the challenges you have faced as a prophet’s wife?
I have faced so many challenges but as a prophet’s wife, one need to be calm, persevere and generous. I am the quiet type, but my husband told me to always speak out when the need arises so that people will know my mind and that it is not good to be silent on issues that need response and since then I have leant that lesson from my husband.
Are you mentoring any of your children to become a lawyer so as to fulfil your dream?
I thank God my children are intelligent, though they are still small, I noticed that one of them is towing that line, while I tutor them in the way of God and give them good education.
Can you recollect some of the challenges you have had?
I have had lots of challenges, but cannot recall anyone now. It is true things are not easy, but I was able to adapt with every situation I found myself because I came from an extended family. I have learnt so many lessons on how to deal with different kinds of people and do not forget that I read Guidance And Counselling that thought me how to relate with people and moreover my husband thought me many moral lessons that shaped my life as a prophet’s wife.
My coming from an extended family also helped me a lot because I have lived with people who marry more than one wives and I was able to adapt to the situation I found myself.
Was there anytime you feel like quiting God’s work?
Never, since I have decided to follow Jesus, I thank God for my husband, we have both had difficult times, but we know how we manage ourselves without telling anyone. We practically put our trust in God and He has been sufficient for us. Even those that were not men of God faced difficult times and it depends on one’s relationship with God to get out of it. My husband supported me a lot and that is why I have been managing my ministry without issues.
Would you say you have excelled as a prophet’s wife?
Yes I want to tell you that I have excelled greatly because of the wisdom and inspiration I am getting from my husband who is more than a husband to me, he is like my father.
How are you able to settle marital issues and others among your members?
Thank you, I have my guidance and counselling background and the Bible as my dictionary. what I do is to listen carefully to whoever brings any matter to me and where the need arises, I will call both parties and God has been assisting me.
I am someone that loves peace and I want peace to reign in every home just like mine and that is why I have been able to resolve many issues.
What is your advice for women, especially the ones in ministry?
My advice is that we should support our husbands in all things because the challenges of the country can break homes.
Some women are the reasons their husbands engage in extra marital affairs. We should do things that will make our husbands have confidence in us instead of nagging. We should cooperate with our husbands and assist them in whatever they are doing because of the economic situation of the country. It can be worrisome and can make some husbands powerless.
What is your relationship with other people in this community?
My husband and I have a very good relationship with the people in the community and that is why if we have any event, they all come out to celebrate with us because they all love Baba because of his kindness. There’s no time you come to my husband that he will not find a solution to whatever you come for and that informed why they call him Baba Solution.
Would you advice men and women of God to venture into politics?
Yes politics is meant for genuine Christians who have the fear of God because if they rule with the fear of God there will not be intimidation, bribery, corruption.
Not only Christians, but people of other religions, as long as they rule with the fear of God there won’t be bandits and terrorism will not be prevalent in our society.
So I will advise Christians that are God fearing to go into politics and change things for the better and with that the country will move forward.
