Encomiums As Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Holds Annual Community Project

Religious bodies, groups and other institutions have been advised to support the government in terms of community development as the government alone can not satisfy the masses .
Residents of Oni and Sons, Ring Road , Ibadan the Oyo State capital, will never forget in a hurry the 2025 community service project of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints, Nigeria, Ibadan Stake of Zion as the Church has cleared the bushy area which served as hideouts for hoodlums who have been tormenting the area over the years .
The President of the Ibadan Stake of Nigeria, Engr. Olusola Taiwo Ojo, while speaking with journalists during the community service project, disclosed that the event is an annual community service project, which he said has been carried out throughout Africa where the church has branches.
He stated that their choice of the Oni and Sons area was reinforced by their commitments to dislodge the hoodlums, who are using the bushy place directly opposite Shoprite to rob innocent citizens of the area and passers-by.
“We have been observing this place for a very long time, the bush is too much for hoodlums and hooligans to make their hideouts and escape routes whenever they perpetuate their nefarious acts and that is why we chose this place for this year community service project, though we are here ten years ago,” he said.
While speaking about getting rewards from the government, the Stake President, Olusola Taiwo Ojo, stated that they were not looking for any reward from the government, but only from God, saying that the Bible, says “if you are in the service of fellow human beings, you are in the service of God.”
He however urged other groups, religious organisations and well meaning Nigerians to emulate the community service of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter – Day Saints.
“We are not looking for any reward from the government but from God although we informed the authority of the Ibadan South West Local Government before we embarked on the project.
“Our joy also is that the people of this community appreciate what we are doing, some of them thanked us as they drive pass and that is our pride,” he said.
Engr. Olusola Taiwo Ojo however, advised the government to always support organisations and groups that prioritise community service development so as to have a clean and save environment.
