Akwa Ibom Government Denies Claim of Governor’s Regret Over Joining APC

The Akwa Ibom State Government has dismissed as false and mischievous a claim credited to Chief Dan Ulasi that Governor Umo Eno regrets joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a strongly worded rebuttal issued on Sunday, the Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Umanah, described the allegation as “completely unfounded,” stressing that the Governor has never met or spoken with Ulasi, and could not have expressed such sentiments.

“Governor Umo Eno remains very comfortable and deeply committed to the APC, working in full alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Umanah said. He added that the Governor is also working closely with Senate President Godswill Akpabio and other party leaders in the state to consolidate progressive governance.

According to him, Governor Eno has leveraged increased federal resources devolved to the states under President Tinubu to advance his ARISE Agenda, with visible results in infrastructure renewal, empowerment programmes, and social investments across Akwa Ibom.

The Commissioner accused Chief Ulasi of engaging in “a desperate attempt at distortion,” urging him to pursue his political ambitions openly rather than dragging the Governor’s name into “manoeuvres and fabrications.”

“Akwa Ibom people are satisfied with the Governor’s sterling performance and have gladly followed his leadership into the APC, embracing progressive governance,” Umanah said, while calling on the public to disregard the claims entirely.

He emphasized that Governor Eno is firmly at home in the ruling party, focused on delivering good governance under the ARISE Agenda, and committed to working with President Tinubu to ensure peace, prosperity, and sustainable development for Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria.
