Fresh FM, Yinka Ayefele Ltd React As Fire Razes Music House In Ibadan

The management of Fresh FM Nigeria and Yinka Ayefele Limited has officially reacted to the fire incident that gutted Music House, the corporate headquarters of the station, at Challenge, Ibadan, Oyo State, on Friday evening.

In a statement signed by Samson Akindele, Group Head of Corporate Affairs, the organisation confirmed the unfortunate development, noting that the full extent of the damage was yet to be ascertained.

“We are sad to inform the general public that the Head Office of Fresh FM Nigeria, Challenge–Ibadan, was razed by a devastating fire incident this evening, August 15, 2025,” the statement read.

Akindele disclosed that the blaze destroyed the studios of Fresh 105.9 FM and Blast 98.3 FM, as well as adjoining offices, including the newsroom, transmitter/server room, and several pieces of equipment, while operations were ongoing.

He explained that initial efforts by staff to combat the inferno with in-house fire extinguishers proved futile due to its intensity, until the arrival of officials of the Oyo State Fire Service.

“The cause of the fire is yet to be established, and we cannot immediately quantify the extent of the losses,” he added.

The management expressed appreciation to residents, passersby, and officials of the Oyo Fire Service who rallied to help contain the situation.
