JUST IN: NCAA Petitions AGF, IGP To Investigate And Prosecute K1 De Ultimate Over Airport Incident

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has formally petitioned the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), requesting a thorough investigation and possible prosecution of Fuji music icon, King Wasiu Omogbolahan Olasunkanmi Adewale Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, following an incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The development stems from a reported altercation that took place on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, involving the veteran musician during boarding procedures for a scheduled ValueJet flight, VK201. The incident, which disrupted standard operational protocols, has raised serious concerns over passenger behavior and compliance with aviation safety regulations.
According to preliminary findings, K1 De Ultimate is alleged to have engaged in conduct that contravenes provisions of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs) 2023. While specific details of the incident are still being compiled, the NCAA maintains that the musician’s actions were serious enough to merit both administrative and potential criminal consequences.
In a letter signed by Michael Achimugu, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, the agency urged the AGF and IGP to initiate a comprehensive criminal investigation and prosecute the case in accordance with aviation and other applicable laws.
In a further move to safeguard air travel operations, the Director General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, has issued an advisory to the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), recommending that K1 De Ultimate be placed on a temporary No-Fly List for all commercial flights, pending the conclusion of official investigations.
“This advisory aligns with international aviation standards which prioritize the safety and security of passengers, crew, and overall airline operations,” the NCAA said in the statement.
The aviation regulator reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on violations of safety protocols, emphasizing that all passengers—regardless of fame or social standing—will be held accountable for conduct that threatens the integrity of Nigeria’s airspace.
Further updates are expected as investigations progress.
