NCAA Bans Fuji Legend K1 De Ultimate For 6 Months Over Alleged Airport Security Breach

By Kunle Bakare
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has imposed a six-month travel ban on Fuji music icon, Wasiu Ayinde Omogbolahan, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, over an alleged breach of airport security protocols.
According to sources within the aviation sector, the sanction—which takes immediate effect—prohibits the veteran performer from using any airport in Nigeria until February 2026.
The decision follows a preliminary investigation by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), which reportedly found K1 culpable in a recent altercation at an undisclosed airport. The incident allegedly occurred when the musician attempted to board a ValueJet Airlines flight while carrying a flask containing a liquid substance suspected to be alcohol.
During a routine security check, the flask reportedly spilled, splashing its contents on airport staff, including the flight’s pilot. The incident escalated into a heated exchange, prompting security officials to deny K1 boarding. FAAN deemed the breach serious enough to warrant disciplinary action and referred the matter to the NCAA.
In response, K1 De Ultimate has strongly denied the allegations. In a statement released on Wednesday, he insisted the flask contained only drinking water.
“I did not carry alcohol through airport security,” the statement read. “The flask contained ordinary water for personal use. It is unfortunate that the situation has been misrepresented and exaggerated.”
While the NCAA has not indicated whether the ban might be lifted if new evidence emerges, officials confirmed that a full investigation is ongoing to determine the facts.
The incident has triggered widespread reactions, with some fans expressing support for the musician, while others have backed the regulatory action. Aviation stakeholders have largely commended the NCAA’s stance, calling it a necessary reminder that all travelers—regardless of fame or status—must adhere strictly to airport security regulations.
As of press time, neither ValueJet Airlines nor FAAN has released further comment beyond the initial report.
