BREAKING: Gunmen Kill Ebonyi Lawmaker’s Police Escorts in Imo Ambush

The Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Aboki Danjuma, has ordered a full-scale manhunt for the unidentified gunmen who killed two police officers attached to Kingsley Ikoro, Majority Leader of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly (Afikpo North-West constituency).
Speaking through the command’s spokesperson, Henry Okoye, on Monday, the CP vowed that the killers would be brought to justice, declaring that “there will be no hiding place for them.”
According to police reports, the officers were ambushed and shot dead on Sunday at the Okigwe axis of the road in Imo State. They had stayed behind to secure one of the vehicles in Ikoro’s convoy after it developed a mechanical fault, while the rest of the team continued their journey.
Tragically, while waiting at the scene, they were attacked and killed by yet-to-be-identified assailants.
Okoye confirmed that the bodies of the fallen officers have been evacuated to a morgue, while police operatives have launched a bush-combing operation and intensified investigations to track down the perpetrators.
He described the slain officers as having “paid the supreme price in the line of duty.”
