The Executive Chairman Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr Ladi Oluwaloni, has inaugurated the newly constructed asphalt road and four culverts at Revelation Street and Cosmos Bus Stop in Ayobo community.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 546-meter road project was completed under six weeks as part of the council’s strategic commitment to improving connectivity, enhancing access, and fostering socioeconomic growth within the LCDA.
Oluwaloni while given his remarks during the inauguration on Saturday said that the project goes beyond laying asphalt and erecting culverts.
“This project is not just about concrete and asphalt; it is about creating a more connected, accessible, and inclusive community for the good people of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA,” he said.
The Chairman acknowledged the crucial role played by the council’s engineering team, contractors, and project supervisors, expressing gratitude for their dedication and professionalism.
He also appreciated the patience and cooperation of the residents throughout the construction period.
Oluwaloni said that he affirmed that the infrastructure would stimulate local commerce, improve mobility, and boost public confidence in governance.
“We are not just constructing roads; we are building futures.
“We appeal to landlords to ensure moderation in rent increases as this development will impact the socio-economic profile of the area, and rents may go up.
But let us be considerate. Do not say because we have done your road, you will now increase rents arbitrarily. It should not be so,” he said.
The Olu of Ipaja, Oba Kolawole Egundupe, in his speech lauded the chairman for transforming Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA within such a short period.
“Honestly, I never believed this road would be constructed in 10 years. But to see it started and completed in just 8 weeks is unprecedented,” the royal father said.
Egundupe commended Oluwaloni for bringing peace and harmony to the council, applauding his courage and doggedness in steering the affairs of the LCDA.
The monarch also called on residents to continue praying and supporting the chairman’s development agenda.
Mr Shakiru Yusuf, the Former Chairman of the Council,  also described Oluwaloni as “a miracle worker and a magician,” adding that his administration has brought monumental development to Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA.
Yusuf also praised the recent upgrade of the Ishefun Public Health Centre, describing it as a major boost to the local health sector.
He urged the residents to continue supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC), to ensure the continued delivery of the dividends of democracy.
