President Tinubu Confers CFR National Honour on Bill Gates
President Bola Tinubu has conferred the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) on Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The honour was bestowed during a ceremony in Lagos on Tuesday, attended by top government officials including Ali Pate, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, and Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, among others.
The award recognises Gates’ outstanding contributions to global health, education, and poverty alleviation, as well as his foundation’s strategic partnerships with Nigeria.
Gates is currently visiting Nigeria to engage with President Tinubu and other senior officials on advancing reforms in the country’s primary healthcare system
