Federal Government Declares June 6 And 9, 2025, As Public Holidays For Eid-ul-Adha

The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released on behalf of the Federal Government on Monday.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended warm congratulations to all Muslims in Nigeria and the Diaspora, urging the Ummah to continue to embody the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him).

He also called on Nigerians to use the occasion of Eid to offer prayers for peace, unity, and prosperity across the country.

The Minister reiterated that the people-centered reforms and initiatives being implemented under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are aimed at putting Nigeria back on the path of growth and development.

While wishing the Muslim Ummah a joyful and peaceful Eid-ul-Adha celebration, Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged all Nigerians to support the administration’s efforts in restoring the nation’s pride and achieving its full potential.
