Ooni Donates Land for Construction of World Ifa Temple

The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has donated three acres of land to the International Council for Ifa Religion (ICIR) for the construction of the World Ifa Temple.
The temple is envisioned as the largest global pilgrimage site for practitioners of Yoruba traditional religion, aimed at promoting Ifa spirituality and preserving the cultural heritage of the Oduduwa people.
This development was announced in a statement released by ICIR President, Fayemi Fakayode, on Wednesday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
“This gesture by our revered first-class Oba demonstrates his unwavering commitment to Yoruba tradition, culture, and spirituality,” Fakayode said.
“On behalf of the Council of Araba and Oluwo, under the chairmanship of His Eminence Awodotun Aworeni, the Araba/Olu-Isese Agbaye, and all Ifa and Orisa practitioners worldwide, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Ooni for this historic contribution,” he added.
According to Fakayode, the World Ifa Temple will serve as a global spiritual hub for followers of Oduduwa’s faith.
“The project will become the largest Ifa temple in the world, attracting worshippers and pilgrims from across the globe. It is a monumental step in solidifying the global presence of Yoruba spirituality,” he said.
The donated land, located near the Stadium Area on Route 7 in Ile-Ife, Osun State, has already seen the commencement of preliminary work.
The ICIR, headquartered at Oke-Itase in Ile-Ife, had earlier requested the land to establish what it described as “the Largest World Ifa Temple.”
