Federal Government Approves Rehabilitation of Omuo/Kabba Road, a Milestone for Ijumu Constituency

In a significant infrastructural development, the federal government has approved the long-awaited rehabilitation of the Omuo/Kabba Road, a vital route connecting Ekiti and Kogi States. This marks a major victory for the people of Ijumu Constituency in Kogi State, who have endured years of hardship due to the road’s deplorable condition.
The breakthrough was made possible through the proactive efforts of Hon. Omotayo Adeleye Ishaya, the Honourable Member representing Ijumu Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly. According to a statement released by her Media and Publicity Office, the approval follows a strategic engagement with the Honourable Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi.
Earlier in the week, Hon. Omotayo led a delegation to the minister, where she passionately presented the urgent need for the road’s rehabilitation. She highlighted the road’s importance to the economic and social wellbeing of the Ijumu people, emphasizing its role in facilitating trade, education, and secure transportation across communities.
Impressed by the presentation, the Honourable Minister granted swift approval for the project, underscoring the federal government’s commitment to responsive governance and national development. The approval aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at driving infrastructure renewal across the country.
The statement also paid tribute to Hon. Abiodun James Faleke for his quiet but impactful support in securing the project. His behind-the-scenes efforts were described as a testament to his dedication to the progress of Ijumu.
“We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Sen. Engr. David Umahi for his responsiveness and willingness to listen to the voices of our people,” the statement read. “Our profound appreciation equally goes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose vision continues to inspire progress across the nation.”
The statement concluded with optimism about the future, declaring that the project represents more than just the construction of a road. “This is a new chapter of opportunity, unity, and growth for Ijumu. We eagerly await the commencement of work and the transformation it will bring to our communities.”
The rehabilitation of the Omuo/Kabba Road is expected to significantly boost economic activities and improve the quality of life for thousands of residents along the corridor.
