Nigerian Correctional Service Offers N5 Million Reward for Recapture of Escaped Inmates

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has announced a N5 million cash reward for anyone who provides credible information leading to the recapture of seven inmates who escaped from the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Ilesa, Osun State.
The jailbreak occurred in the early hours of Tuesday following a heavy downpour, which reportedly weakened the facility’s perimeter fence and allowed several inmates to flee.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the NCoS urged members of the public to support ongoing efforts by security agencies by sharing any useful intelligence. The Service assured that all information provided will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the escape and have reaffirmed their commitment to re-arresting the fugitives and ensuring justice is served.
