JAMB To Begin Early Review Of 2025 UTME Over Surge In Unusual Complaints

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it will begin an early review of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) process due to an unusually high volume of complaints following the release of the results.
This was made known on Monday in a statement issued by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.
“The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board acknowledges the significant volume of unusual complaints following the release of the 2025 UTME results, which were officially published last Friday,” the statement read.
In response, JAMB said it would fast-track its annual system review—an extensive post-examination evaluation that typically takes place months after the conclusion of the UTME. The review process, the Board noted, spans three critical stages: registration, examination, and result release.
During the examination phase, JAMB emphasized that all candidates are given the opportunity to sit for the test, and any technical hitches are promptly addressed by rescheduling affected candidates.
“We are particularly concerned about the unusual complaints originating from a few states within the Federation,” Benjamin stated. “We are currently scrutinizing these complaints in detail to identify and rectify any potential technical issues.”
He added that if any glitches are confirmed, the Board would take appropriate remedial actions without delay, reaffirming JAMB’s commitment to fairness and transparency in its examination processes.
“This has always been the Board’s practice,” he concluded
