Omole Set To Deliver Inaugural Lecture On Unveiling The Untapped Potentials In Microlivestock Research, Production

Academics, students, farmers and stakeholders in the field of research will on May 13, 2025 converge on the soil of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile -Ife Osun State, to witness the Inaugural Lecture of Professor Omole Adeboye Joseph.
The event, according to information made available to First Weekly Magazine by the image maker of Institute of Agricultural Research And Training IAR&T Ibadan, Dr. Adeniyi Amusat, is that it is the 397th Inaugural Lecture of the institution and that it will hold at the Oduduwa Hall of OAU, Ile Ife.
The event will be chaired by the Vice Chancellor of OAU, Professor Simeon Bamire, while family and friends are also expected to be part of the high octane event.
Professor Omole is a research scientist, career counselor, consultant, publisher, author and trainer.
Prof. Omole Adeboye obtained his first degree (B.Sc.) in Animal Science at the Obafemi Awolowo University in 1993, Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Animal Science (Option in Agricultural Biochemistry and Nutrition) at the Animal Science Department, University of Ibadan in 1998 and 2003, respectively.
His research thrust is in Animal Nutrition in Micro-livestock in which he has published over 100 journals in both local and international journals, 25 farmers practical oriented books, more than 80 agricultural related issues in national dailies and magazines among others.
Part of Prof. Omole’s research breakthroughs and professional accomplishments are (1) Determination of Nutrient  Requirements (Protein, Energy, Calcium and Phosphorus for different stages of Production of Snails and Grass-Cutter), which are the bases for Feed formulation for feed millers and farmers (2) Determination of appropriate salt inclusion for different stages of snails (3) Formulation of least cost feeds using farm wastes and by-products with several publications (4) Co-supervision of  7 Ph.D students, more than 10 Masters of Science, many graduates and over 34 Higher Diplomas out  of which one of them is a Professor and others are Readers in various Universities (5) training and empowerment of more than 5000 youths in Agricultural Entrepreneurship, which have assisted in job creation and income generation (6) Mentorship of over 400 youths on academics and moral excellence.
His research publications have made significant impacts on global science, and they have contributed to international development and are currently in use as global reference materials.
Prof. Omole is an external examiner and assessor in the field of Animal Science to universities and other tertiary institutions.
 He has organized more than 30 empowerment workshops for National Youth Corp (NYSC) members, unemployed youths and women in the field of agriculture and he is a recipient of many grants.
Professor Adeboye Joseph Omole bagged more than 17 awards at both  national and international levels, among which are award of excellence for good mentorship of youths by Oyo State Agency for Youth Development in 2010, Outstanding Head of Programme of the Institute of Agric. Research and Training for the 2013/14 and 2014/15 academic sessions.
At the national level, he was a recipient of NYSC award as Best Corp Member of the year1993/94 in Kogi State. At the international level are awards for farmers oriented research in snail farming by the National Association of Snail farmers of Cameroon and Distinguished regional award for farmer oriented documentation for Sustainable Agriculture in Africa by Heifer international at Limbe, Cameroon. He is the current Chairman of Animal Science Association of Nigeria, Oyo State Branch and President of  Charity Organization, LifeChoice Care and Empowerment.
Professor Omole is a publisher, author, committed Christian and a resourceful Ijesaman, who uses his little resources to serve God and humanity.
He is happily married and the marriage is blessed with children.
Stakeholders within and outside South West, Nigeria are cordially invited to this landmark and groundbreaking lecture.
