TORTURED INTO CONFESSION: Chidinma Claims Police Forced Her To Lie in Super TV CEO Murder Case

In a dramatic twist in the high-profile murder trial of Super TV CEO Usifo Ataga, prime suspect Chidinma Ojukwu stunned a Lagos High Court on Tuesday by claiming her confessional statements were scripted and extracted under brutal police duress.
The former University of Lagos student, now facing murder, theft, and forgery charges alongside Adedapo Quadri and her sister, Chioma Egbuchu, testified that fear and physical abuse by the Investigating Police Officer, Bamidele, forced her to stick to a fabricated narrative.
“I was terrified,” Chidinma told the court, recounting how Bamidele handcuffed her to a chair, slapped her, and dictated statements she was later compelled to repeat before journalists and top police officials.
She alleged that after her arrest on June 23, 2021, Bamidele seized her phone, dug through her contacts, and demanded information about the late CEO’s ATM card, cannabis allegedly smoked with him, and her laptop sale at Computer Village.
Despite telling the officer, “I don’t know anything about the N5.38 million withdrawal,” she said he continued interrogating her aggressively and forced her into giving a statement without legal representation.
Even more shocking, Chidinma said she was paraded before the press and commanded to stick to the ‘script’—a chilling claim that casts doubt on early confessions that once dominated headlines.
Justice Yetunde Adesanya has adjourned the case until May 7, promising more explosive revelations in a saga that has gripped the nation since 2021.
