Terror in Kogi: Sharia Law Imposed As Terrorists Mutilate Victim In Brutal Warning

Terror gripped Kogi State over the weekend as armed terrorists seized control of a vast forest territory, imposing Sharia law with brutal force. In a shocking display of savagery, Mr. Lanlege Adewale, a local traveler, had his right hand amputated to serve as a grim warning to surrounding communities.

The horrifying incident occurred on Saturday along the Ogbe-Ikoro road, where Adewale and several women were abducted by heavily armed men identified as Fulani herdsmen. They were forcibly taken deep into a sprawling forest that stretches across Kogi, Kwara, and Ekiti States — now reportedly under the control of militant forces.

“They seized five people — three of them women — and took them into the bush near Ikoro,” Mr. Olaoye Adeola, a native of Egbe, recounted to Irohinodua. “The terrorists have completely taken over the area.”

According to sources, while in captivity, the women were separated from the men. Adewale was allegedly told by the militants that they were establishing Sharia law across Yoruba states as part of a grand plan for a Jihad reaching all the way to the Atlantic Ocean.

Wearing military uniforms and armed with AK-47s, the insurgents showed maps indicating their nationwide ambitions.

“They told him to go back and deliver their message — and made sure he would never forget it by cutting off his hand,” a family member revealed. “They said they are preparing for full-scale conquest.”

General Secretary of the Alliance for Yoruba Democratic Movements (AYDM), Mr. Popoola Ajayi, declared the act as undeniable proof of an ongoing terrorist campaign in Yorubaland.

“It is no longer about herders grazing cattle,” Ajayi said. “This is a calculated invasion. They are here to conquer.”

After the mutilation, Adewale was left bleeding profusely and abandoned without any ransom demand. Miraculously, he survived the gruesome ordeal.

Security sources confirmed that the Kogi State Government has intensified military operations to reclaim the forest, notorious for being a haven for terrorists. “They must be flushed out,” a police officer insisted.

This attack comes on the heels of another tragedy — the assassination of Ikoro’s traditional ruler, retired General Olusegun Aremu, by suspected terrorists.

Despite President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s aggressive crackdown on banditry inherited from previous administrations, Nigeria faces a resurgent wave of terrorism. Alarm bells are ringing, with the Borno State Governor warning that Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters are regrouping.

The nation stands on high alert as terrorists entrench themselves deeper into Nigerian territories, leaving blood, terror, and chaos in their wake.
