Oyo Lawmaker, Popoola Empowers Constituents On Skills Acquisition, Presents Cash To Women

In his effort to fulfill his campaign promises, the lawmaker representing Ibadan Southeast Constituency 1
in the Oyo House of Assembly, Honourable Segun Ademola Popoola has distributed empowerment items to his constituents after completing their various skills acquisition.

The empowerment programme was held at Saint Paul Catholic Primary School, Eleta, Ibadan, where the lawmaker distributed sewing machines, hairdryers, nylon cutting machines, gas cooker, generator sets among others.

The lawmaker, representing Ibadan Southeast Constituency 1, also distributed cash to women to assist them in their various businesses.

Popoola said the empowerment was meant to appreciate his people, saying that the programme will be a continuous one.

He expressed appreciation to the Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde and all stakeholders of Peoples Democratic Party, especially from Ibadan Southeast Local Government, gave thanks to all residents of his constituency for their endless love and continuous support.

Governor Makinde’s ally, Hon. Dare Adeleke expressed joy for witnessing the empowerment programme and also thanked Popoola for the good gesture he extended to his people.

He added that the lawmaker is following the footsteps of Governor Seyi Makinde.

Adeleke charged the beneficiaries to use the equipment given to them well and also use them to impact positively on people around them.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with pressmen lauded Popoola for the gesture and prayed to God to continue to be with him.

According to one of the beneficiaries, Olapade Bukola, “all I can say is that we really thank Hon. Popoopla for giving us the opportunity to learn an handiwork and today after the completion of the training.

“He still gave us all items needed to start the work we have learnt, this is very kind gesture from our honorable.”

In her own appreciation, Lawal Aminat who learnt tailoring during the skills acquisition programme said that it took her time to believe the lawmaker when he asked her to go and enroll in any of his acquisition programmes.

He said that he will set her up at the end of he programme. “I doubted him at the beginning, but thank God, Hon. Popoola had shown that he is a talk and do man. May Almighty God grant him all his wishes too,” Aminat said.
