Oyo RTEAN Commiserates With Family of The Late Olubadan

The Oyo State chapter of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria(RTEAN) has joined numerous Nigerians to commiserate with the family of the late Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji (Aje Ogunguniso 1) saying that Baba would be missed for his great philanthropist gesture.

The Chairman of RTEAN in Oyo State, Comrade Kamorudeen Idowu, popularly known as Owo Geesi, stated this in a release he personally issued signed after joining others to observe Fidau Prayer for the 41st Olubadan of Ibadanland, and Chairman, Oyo State Council of Obas who joined his ancestors on Sunday January 2.

Oba Adetunji died at 93 after a brief illness at the University College Hospital, (UCH) Ibadan.

Owo Geesi said that with the passage of the monarch, Ibadan land has truly lost a great man, a leader per exellence and a great lover of Ibadan city.

He said that personally, the late Olubadan was like a father to him, who he said always offered him wise counsel long before he became a king.

He added that though Oba Adetunji’s life span on the throne was short, it was full of memorable events that the people of Ibadan will remember for a long time to come.

Owo Geesi, who extended his condolence message to the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), the Olubadan in Council and the entire sons and daughters of Ibadan over the passage of the revered monarch, prayed Almighty Allah to forgive him his shortcomings and admit him to aljanat fridaus .

“The entire Oyo RTEAN will never forget the indelible mark of the late monarch, especially in ensuring peace in Ibadanland during his reign,” he said.

RTEAN however, enjoined the incoming Olubadan to also cooperate with the government and the entire people of Ibadanland in ensuring peace in the land.

Oba Adetunji is survived by his wife, Olori Rashidat Ololade Adetunji, children, grand children and great grand children.
