Eid: MUSWEN Urges Muslims To Sustain Virtues Beyond Ramadan

The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) has called on Muslims to uphold the values cultivated during Ramadan and carry them into daily life beyond the fasting period.

In a statement jointly signed by its President, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, and Executive Secretary, Professor Wole Abbas, to mark the Eid-el-Fitri celebration, the group said the end of Ramadan should not signal a return to old habits, but rather a continuation of spiritual growth.

MUSWEN noted that the discipline, self-restraint, generosity and devotion demonstrated during the holy month are meant to shape the conduct of believers throughout the year.

The organisation also urged Muslims to continue praying for peace, security and economic stability in Nigeria, stressing the need for collective supplication in the face of national challenges.

“As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitri, we must remember that Allah, whom we worshipped during Ramadan, remains ever watchful and rewards righteous deeds at all times,” the statement said.

MUSWEN prayed for the acceptance of the fasting and supplications of Muslims, and for enduring peace and stability in the country.
