CJN Swears In 14 Newly Appointed Federal High Court Judges Wednesday

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has announced that the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, will on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, swear in newly appointed Judges of the Federal High Court.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Supreme Court, Dr. Festus Akande, said the ceremony will take place in Courtroom Two of the Supreme Court complex in Abuja and is scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m.
The statement invited members of the public—particularly members of the Bench, the Bar, media organisations, and other stakeholders—to witness what it described as a solemn occasion. It added that strict adherence to the prescribed dress code and security protocols will be required for entry into the courtroom.
“The Supreme Court of Nigeria appreciates the continued support and cooperation of all stakeholders in the justice sector as we work together to strengthen the administration of justice in our nation,” the statement read.
It will be recalled that the National Judicial Council (NJC), at its 110th meeting held on January 13 and 14, 2026, and presided over by the CJN, recommended 14 candidates to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointment as Judges of the Federal High Court.
According to a statement by the NJC’s Deputy Director of Information, Mrs. Kemi Babalola-Ogedengbe, the successful nominees are: Suleiman Amida Hassan; Muhammad Barau Saidu; Igboko Chinelo Conchita; Onuegbu Chioma Angela; Galumje Edingah; Ibrahim Vera Eneabo; Abubakar Musa Usman; Salihu Aisha Yunusa; Ikpeme Joy Bassey; Shehu Umaru Adamu; Mohammed Ibrahim Buba; Eigege-Binjin Nendelmum Judith; Usoro Kuyik Uduak; and Nwoye Osinachi Donatus.
The swearing-in ceremony marks a significant step in strengthening the capacity of the Federal High Court and advancing the administration of justice across the country.
