Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have finally brought a 12-year manhunt to a dramatic close with the arrest of Lekan Jimoh, aka Kanmo-Kanmo, a notorious drug kingpin linked to the brutal killing of three NDLEA officers.
Kanmo-Kanmo, infamous for his drug trafficking empire, daring escapes, and use of armed thugs to intimidate security forces, was tracked down to a hideout in Owode town, Ogun State, on January 16, 2026. Tactical teams of the Agency, acting on credible intelligence, swooped in during a meticulously planned operation.
During the arrest, authorities seized 69 kilograms of “skunk,” a potent strain of cannabis, from the fugitive’s possession.
The capture marks a major victory for the NDLEA, underscoring its unwavering commitment to ensuring that no criminal—no matter how long on the run—remains beyond the reach of justice.
This arrest is expected to send shockwaves through Nigeria’s illicit drug networks, signaling that the country’s top drug offenders can no longer operate with impunity.
