ADC’s Noise, Tinubu’s Diplomacy: While The Opposition Counts Trips, The President Delivers Results

The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed as hollow, uninformed, and desperate the latest outburst by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent trip to Europe, describing it as a predictable attempt by an opposition party struggling for relevance.

Reacting to the criticism, the Lagos APC Spokesman, Mogaji (Hon.) Seye Oladejo, said it was unsurprising that the ADC, having failed to articulate any serious alternative vision for Nigeria, had once again resorted to misinformation, noise-making, and cheap headline-chasing instead of constructive engagement on governance.
Oladejo stated that Nigeria is not governed from a village square and that leadership in a modern, interconnected world requires constant engagement with global partners, investors, development institutions, and strategic allies. According to him, President Tinubu’s Europe trip is firmly rooted in advancing Nigeria’s national interest through strengthened bilateral relations, investment promotion, economic diplomacy, and the reinforcement of Nigeria’s standing in the comity of nations.
He described as either ignorant or deliberately mischievous the attempt to portray the trip as a sightseeing venture, stressing that only the intellectually lazy would assume that leadership is confined to physical presence within national borders.
Oladejo emphasised that President Tinubu governs with intent, structure, and continuity, noting that the machinery of government remains fully functional at all times through clear policy direction, effective delegation, and strong institutions. Nigeria, he said, does not grind to a halt because the President is engaging the international community on behalf of its people.

The APC spokesman further argued that the ADC’s fixation on presidential travel exposes its chronic lack of ideas and understanding of modern governance. He noted that with no concrete roadmap for economic recovery, no credible security blueprint, and no viable policy alternatives, the opposition party has reduced itself to monitoring flight schedules and issuing press statements rooted in envy rather than substance.

Oladejo also pointed out the irony of the current outrage, recalling that many of those now criticising were silent or openly supportive during previous administrations that embarked on numerous wasteful foreign trips with little or no benefit to the country.

Under President Tinubu, he said, international engagements are clearly aligned with Nigeria’s economic recovery agenda, infrastructure financing drive, energy transition goals, and renewed global relevance.

According to him, Nigerians are not deceived and can clearly see the difference between a President working tirelessly both at home and abroad to reposition the nation and an opposition permanently trapped in the politics of distraction and shallow theatrics.

As the year draws to a close and Nigerians look ahead with renewed hope and cautious optimism, Oladejo advised the opposition to urgently raise its game, warning that empty noise-making has reduced it to a caricature in the public space.

He concluded that the Renewed Hope Agenda is not a slogan but an unfolding process requiring bold domestic reforms and purposeful international engagement, adding that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains firmly in charge decisive, deliberate, and globally engaged for the benefit of Nigeria and Nigerians.
