From TikTok Herbalist To Bush Rituals: Full Story Of How FRSC Officer, Daughter Were Killed In Osun

Osun State Police Command has uncovered the full, shocking details behind the brutal killing of a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer, Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, and her daughter, Sewa, whose mutilated bodies were found in separate locations in what authorities describe as a ritual murder masterminded by the officer’s lover.
The case, which began as a missing-person report, has spiralled into one of the most horrifying crime stories in recent years involving superstition, social media–based herbalists, ritual killings, organ harvesting, and an international manhunt.
A Lover’s Deadly Conspiracy
The key suspect, 40-year-old Victor Fajemirokun, confessed that he lured Funmilayo from Ogun State to Ijebu-Jesa, Osun State, after being told by a cleric that she had spiritually “taken his glory” and was responsible for his misfortunes.
Seeking a “solution,” Fajemirokun contacted a TikTok-based herbalist, Gboyega Daramola, known as Aberefa. He told his wife he was heading to Ikoyi, Osun, for prayers on a mountain but instead planned the deadly trip.
He persuaded Funmilayo to join him for “spiritual cleansing,” and she arrived with her daughter, not knowing they were walking into a trap.
The Journey to Death
At Daramola’s house in Ijebu-Jesa, the herbalist allegedly declared that Funmilayo was blocking Fajemirokun’s progress and insisted she undergo a ritual in the bush. Fajemirokun, alongside herbalist aides, escorted the woman and child into the forest.
“We took them to the bush where we killed her. The daughter went with us,” Fajemirokun admitted.
According to the police, both victims were slaughtered in cold blood.
How the Killings Happened
During interrogation, one of the arrested herbalists, Sunday James, narrated the chilling sequence of events:
“Victor was told his woman had used his glory. He came so we could kill her and her child. My boss ordered me to kill them and threatened me. We took them to the bush. I slit their throats. Afterwards, we cut the woman into pieces.”
He revealed that two other accomplices, Kehinde and Idowu, butchered the remains after the killings.
Bodies Recovered With Missing Organs
Police Commissioner CP Gotan detailed how investigations led detectives to the locations where the bodies were dumped.
On November 17, herbalist Daramola took officers to Esa-Odo Dam, where Funmilayo’s mutilated remains were recovered.
Her head, breast, hands, private parts, and several other organs were missing — confirming suspicions of ritual harvesting. Her body was deposited at the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital morgue.
On November 20, operatives arrested Sunday James in Ekiti State. He led detectives to where Sewa’s body was dumped in the bush. Her head, hands, and feet were missing. Her remains were also taken to the UNIOSUN morgue.
Mastermind Arrested in Ghana
While police closed in on his accomplices, Fajemirokun fled Nigeria in an attempt to escape justice. A collaborative operation with Interpol tracked him to Ghana, where he was arrested and repatriated to Nigeria.
Police say he has since given extensive confessions tying him directly to the premeditated killings.
CP Gotan confirmed that all arrested suspects would be taken to court at the conclusion of investigations.
“Efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects. All perpetrators will face full prosecution,” he assured.
Funmilayo’s colleagues in the FRSC, family members, and the public have been left devastated by the brutality of the killings. The involvement of a lover, the use of TikTok herbalists, and the extent of mutilation have amplified national outrage.
As investigations continue, authorities say the case stands as a grim reminder of the deadly consequences of ritual practices, ignorance, and criminal exploitation in the guise of spirituality.
