Retired Delta High Court Judge Found Murdered in Asaba

A retired judge of the Delta State High Court, Justice Ifeoma Okogwu, was on Monday morning found murdered in her residence in Asaba.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the late jurist was discovered lifeless in her sitting room at No. 8 Tom Halen Street, behind IBTC Bank. Her hands and legs were reportedly bound, and her mouth gagged with a wrapper.
Her brother, Emeka Okogwu, who arrived for a visit around 8:00 a.m., immediately alerted the police. Patrol teams were deployed to the residence shortly after the report.
The police have arrested the on-duty security guard, Lucky Matthew, for interrogation, while another guard, identified as Godwin Vanen, is currently missing and being trailed by investigators.
The body of Justice Okogwu has been evacuated and deposited at Maduemeie Hospital Mortuary, Asaba.
Police authorities say investigation into the motive behind the killing and the identity of the assailants is ongoing. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Asaba, for discreet investigation.
