Transborder Criminal Financier Arrested in Kano — N15.28m Cash Recovered

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Scorpion Squad have arrested a suspected transborder criminal financier, Alhaji Jazuli Adamu, 40, in Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State. His arrest followed actionable digital intelligence and confessions from earlier-apprehended armed robbery suspects.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that Jazuli is believed to be the key financial conduit for Alhaji Abdulkarim Ibrahim (alias “Gabeida”) of Niger Republic, who allegedly sponsored criminal gangs responsible for high-end car-snatching operations targeting SUVs and Hilux vehicles nationwide.

According to investigators, proceeds from these robbery operations were funneled into Jazuli’s accounts for redistribution to the armed robbers, while the stolen vehicles were transported across the border into Niger Republic.

Upon his arrest, police recovered N15,280,000 — funds allegedly transferred to him by Abdulkarim for onward disbursement to members of the syndicate.

Preliminary findings also revealed that Jazuli, who runs a small Bureau de Change in Kano, had extensive digital transaction records and payment receipts running into billions of naira linked to Abdulkarim.

Several suspects who reportedly received payments for stolen vehicles through Jazuli are now in custody undergoing interrogation, as investigations into the syndicate’s full network continue.
