BREAKING: NDLEA Busts Lagos Drug Syndicate, Uncovers N6.7bn Hidden Narcotics Empire

In a high-risk overnight raid, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have dismantled what is being described as one of Lagos’ most discreet and sophisticated drug networks, arresting alleged kingpin Onyekachi Pius Nwanagu.

Nwanagu — widely referred to by investigators as a “silent billionaire” for his low-profile but expansive operations — was apprehended alongside five members of his inner circle after NDLEA officers stormed a residential estate believed to be the centre of his illicit activities.

Inside the estate, agents uncovered a concealed warehouse ingeniously hidden behind false walls and specially designed compartments. The cache contained premium-grade narcotics valued at more than N6.7 billion, according to agency sources.

NDLEA operatives reportedly expressed shock at the scale and precision of the operation running within the estate, saying the syndicate wasn’t dealing in “small-time” trafficking but was coordinating a highly structured, high-value drug pipeline from within Lagos.

The agency has launched a broader probe and says additional arrests are expected as the investigation deepens.
