Tuggar Mourns Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, OON, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of renowned Islamic scholar and spiritual leader, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.

In a condolence statement issued on Thursday, Ambassador Tuggar joined the family of the late scholar, his students, and members of the global Tijaniyya community in mourning what he described as an “immense and irreplaceable loss.”

He extended his heartfelt sympathies to the immediate family of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, the government and people of Bauchi State, and all Nigerians whose lives were touched by the revered cleric.

Ambassador Tuggar praised the late Sheikh as a man of exceptional character, humility, and service, noting that his life reflected unwavering dedication to peace, scholarship, community development, and the advancement of Islamic knowledge.

“Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi devoted his life to shaping the moral and ethical foundations of modern Nigeria,” the minister said. “His contributions to spiritual growth and national values will continue to resonate for generations.”

He prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the departed scholar, asking that his shortcomings be forgiven and that he be granted Aljannatul Firdaus. He also prayed for comfort and strength for the family, followers, and associates he left behind.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un,” the statement concluded.
