Divine Mandate Team Storms FRCN Chapel, Receives Overwhelming Support At Headquarters Of Amuludun FM

The campaign of the Divine Mandate Team, one of the leading blocs in the forthcoming election of the Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), gained fresh momentum on Tuesday as the team took its outreach to the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Chapel, visiting both the corporation’s headquarters at Dugbe and its popular outstation, Amuludun FM, Moniya, Ibadan.
The visit, widely described as another impressive and confidence-boosting outing, further strengthened the team’s visibility and acceptance across media establishments in the state.
Upon arrival at the FRCN Headquarters on Oba Adebimpe Road, Dugbe, members of the Divine Mandate Team were greeted with enthusiastic applause, warmth, and solidarity by journalists under the NUJ-FRCN Chapel.
For many in the team, it was more than a campaign stop — it was a homecoming, as several members of the Divine Mandate Team are also staff of FRCN and enjoyed visible support from their colleagues.
As part of the visit, the delegation paid a courtesy call on the FRCN Zonal Director, Mr. Dominic, who oversees FRCN operations in Oyo, Ogun, Lagos, and Ondo States.
Mr. Dominic, who described himself as a “father to all contestants,” noted that journalists must prioritize unity and professionalism throughout the electioneering process.
He offered words of counsel and goodwill to the team and extended his best wishes ahead of the December 9, 2025 NUJ Council election.
The Divine Mandate Team later joined members of the chapel at the ground floor for formal campaign engagements.
The Chairmanship Candidate of the team, Comrade Raji Adebayo, presented a concise overview of his five-point agenda, reiterating his commitment to members’ welfare, transparency, revitalisation of the NUJ Press Centre Clinic, and empowering journalists with foreign-currency-earning opportunities through international partnerships he has already secured.
“We are changing the welfare narrative in Oyo NUJ. Our plan is to ensure every journalist has opportunities to earn additional income through international platforms. Welfare must move beyond tokenism to real, life-changing empowerment,” Adebayo said.
Responding on behalf of FRCN, Mr. Adewumi Faniran expressed his delight at receiving the team, revealing that he had travelled from Osogbo specifically to attend the campaign event.
He urged Adebayo to remain committed to his promises, especially on welfare, which he described as the most pressing concern of journalists today.
In her closing remarks, Comrade Dupe Fehintola, popularly known as “Critical Stakeholder,” conveyed the team’s deep appreciation for what she described as the “warmest and most heartwarming reception.”
She appealed to members of the chapel to support the Divine Mandate Team at the polls and assured them of inclusive leadership when elected.
The campaign train later proceeded to FRCN’s outstation, Amuludun FM, in Moniya, where the Divine Mandate Team once again enjoyed a *warm and lively welcome.
The General Manager of Amuludun FM, Mrs. Owumiipo, blessed the team’s ambition and advised the chairmanship candidate to remain faithful to his promises after emerging victorious. She also appealed for stronger engagement of Amuludun FM in future NUJ activities.
Journalists at the station hosted the team to a friendly and interactive session, described by many as “family-like,” which further highlighted the bond between the chapel and the visiting team.
The Divine Mandate Team’s visit to FRCN and Amuludun FM signals a growing wave of acceptance and increasing confidence among journalists as the December 9 election draws closer.
